Vision

The Department of Psychiatric Nursing and Mental Health at the college of Nursing – N.U.S.T University aspires to excellence and occupying the forefront among the departments of psychiatric nursing and mental health in the various nursing colleges with regard to the process of education, teaching, scientific research and community service in accordance with comprehensive quality standards in mental health care.

Mission

The Department of Psychiatric Nursing is an academic department within the departments of the college of Nursing. It contributes to preparing a distinguished, highly skilled graduate capable of dealing with society in general and with psychiatric patients in various health institutions.

Objectives

1 - Providing the student with the information, skills, and attitudes necessary to enhance the concepts of mental health for the individual, family, and society. 2 - Applying the tripartite concept of health care, which consists of prevention, treatment and rehabilitation. 3 - Developing technological skills for use in developing treatment services for psychiatric patients and developing education, scientific research and community service services.
