The Department of Fundamentals of Nursing at the National University of Science and Technology’s College of Nursing aspires to hold a leading position among the various scientific departments in the college and comparable nursing colleges in Iraqi universities. It aims to compete with all higher education institutions in nursing at both the national and regional levels.
Mission
The mission of the Department of Fundamentals of Nursing is to support the foundational principles of nursing studies at the university level by providing scientific material that aligns with modern nursing concepts and clinical skills. This prepares students to be distinguished in terms of knowledge, skills, and professionalism, enabling them to deliver comprehensive, high-quality nursing care across various nursing specialties for both patients and healthy individuals in hospitals and health centers. It also aims to provide diverse and growing educational experiences across scientific specialties to meet local labor market needs and offer continuous learning opportunities for graduates.
Objectives
The Department of Fundamentals of Nursing aims to achieve the following objectives over the next five years:
Update the scientific curriculum, including teaching methods, educational resources, and evaluation systems. Strengthen the teaching skills of faculty members. Revise research plans based on local community health needs and urgent health issues. Provide health, educational, and research services to local and international communities.
