Pediatric Laboratory

Vision

This laboratory contributes to equipping advanced students with essential competencies for neonatal and pediatric care, preparing them for practice in hospitals and the community through hands-on training with models and various tools. The lab also supports continuous learning and review to ensure skills at different levels. It includes models illustrating various stages of pregnancy, childbirth, and neonatal care.

Mission

The Pediatric Laboratory is a key scientific facility within the college, where students are trained in fundamental nursing procedures essential for developing skills to care for patients. Supervised by a team of highly experienced clinical teaching and technical staff, students in this lab learn a range of nursing procedures, including patient unit care, effective communication between nurse and patient as well as within the healthcare team, and essential infection control measures in healthcare institutions. These include correct hand-washing techniques (routine and surgical) and using appropriate personal protective equipment such as gloves, gowns, masks, face shields, safety goggles, head covers, and shoe covers.
