The Adult Nursing specialty is one of the oldest and most esteemed nursing fields, both historically and in modern times. Specialists consider it the foundation of other nursing branches, often calling it the "origin of nursing," as all other branches have emerged from it.
Vision
The Adult Nursing Department at the College of Nursing, National University of Science and Technology, aspires to lead among the various scientific departments in the college and comparable nursing colleges in Iraqi universities. It aims to compete with all nursing higher education institutions at the national and regional levels.
Mission
The mission of the Adult Nursing Department is to support the foundational principles of nursing at the undergraduate level by offering scientifically aligned content with modern nursing concepts, scientific and clinical skills. This aims to prepare exceptional students in knowledge, skills, and professionalism to deliver high-quality, comprehensive nursing care across adult nursing specialties for both patients and healthy individuals in hospitals and various healthcare centers. Additionally, it seeks to provide a range of educational experiences in different specialties to meet local job market demands and offer continuous learning opportunities for graduates.
Objectives
The Adult Nursing Department aims to achieve the following goals over the next five years:
1- Update the scientific curriculum, including teaching methods, educational tools, and evaluation systems. 2- Strengthen the educational skills of faculty members. 3- Modernize research plans to address the community’s local health needs and respond to urgent health issues. 4- Extend health, educational, and research services to local and international communities.
