The message

 The Maternal and Newborn Health Laboratory is one of the important scientific laboratories in the college, as students are trained on all basic nursing procedures that benefit the student in acquiring the nursing skills necessary for patient care. Training students in this laboratory on various nursing procedures such as how to take care of the patient’s unit, methods of modern communication between the nurse and the patient as well as between the nurse and members of the health team, training students on basic procedures to prevent transmission of infection in health institutions such as using the correct method of hand washing, whether it is routine or surgical methods Preventing transmission of infection by using appropriate personal protective equipment such as gloves, vest, mask, face mask and goggles in addition to head coverings and shoe covers

 

Vision

This laboratory contributes to providing students in the advanced stages with the necessary competencies to care for newborns, children and maternal health, and to qualify students to practice in the hospital and the community through application on models and various tools. The laboratory also serves to provide awareness and review to ensure skills at different levels. Various for pregnancy, childbirth and newborns

Objectives

  • Providing medical services to sick citizens through various consulting clinics, which are run by specialized doctors with the help of nursing staff from college graduates.
  • Training students on how to measure the patient’s vital signs, body temperature, blood pressure, respiratory rate, heart rate, and others
  • Training students on how to document nursing procedures and notes in the patient’s record
  • Providing highly qualified and scientifically qualified cadres to deal with everything related to the field, especially the use of modern scientific and laboratory techniques and keeping pace with their development at the global level.
  • Developing scientific research techniques in the field of medical laboratories and stimulating scientific research in this field
  • To continuously update the theoretical curricula and practical applications that the college adopts in its graduate and primary studies.
